Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport – scope of delivery and design
The Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport is convincing when you unpack it with a view of the scope of delivery. Where most headphones keep the content to a minimum, Klipsch wants to make sure that they really fit everyone and that everything is included that you need.
The box contains the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport headphones themselves, the protective case, five pairs of ear pieces, two pairs of ear wings, a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Especially with the ear pieces, I find the presentation very successful, as they have their own cardboard display altar and each have their own color coding. It also describes directly how you can choose the best essay for yourself. Most headphones have a lot less choice here. The Ear Wings distinguish the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport from the “normal” Klipsch T5 II and provide extra support. A few are already attached, but if the anchor is too short or long, you can use the other two pairs.
The case is also particularly noticeable. This is quite large and well built to withstand impact and shock loads. At the same time, it is also well sealed to protect the inside from dust and water. For the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport, both the headphones themselves and the case are IP 67 certified. Swimming or diving should be avoided if possible, but in the rain or if it falls into a small puddle or a pool, both the case and the headphones should be able to withstand it.
If you open the case you can see that the headphones want to stay dry and why the case is so big. Inside there is silica gel which is supposed to dry wet or sweaty headphones quickly. Personally, I never sweat so much that headphones get wet, but rain is definitely a factor for me that plays a role in Germany and simply being able to use the headphones when there is no other way to dry them completely opens up definitely make sense. It just depends on the situation. The silica gel is in its own perforated “case”, which can be removed, which is important because the silica gel naturally soaks up over time and the absorbed moisture has to be removed again. For this you have to put this insert in the microwave for half a minute every now and then. The app provides instructions for this. I don’t have a microwave and I don’t want one, but I think there are many households where one is available.
Inside is in addition to a status LED also the USB-C connection. There could of course be another solution, but that makes sense for the certification and otherwise minimizes the risk of plugging in the cable while the connection is still damp, etc. Alternatively, you can also use wireless viua
The Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport come in a sporty design and fit really well in the ear. It sits really tight with the Ear Wings and also insulates very well, so that the risk of them falling out when walking, cycling, etc. is very unlikely. I’d say it’s one of the tightest-fitting true wireless headphones out there. Both are each equipped with a status LED and have a button that can be used for operation.
Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport – App and functions
After simply connecting the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sports via Bluetooth, you can get a little more out of your headphones with the Klipsch Connect app. You can make some fine adjustments with the equalizer, set the sensitivity of the environment mode (transparency mode), which allows you to hear outside noises via the microphone and update the firmware.
It is really nice that you get a very easy to understand quick start guide where all the important details are summarized. Normally I would go into how the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport can be operated by pressing the buttons, but I can’t explain it any easier than in the screenshots below. In general, I would say that nothing is missing here.
By the way, Bluetooth 5.0 is used here and the following codecs are supported: SBC, AAC and aptX. The maximum one can be 10 Remove meters from the end device.
Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport – Battery
According to Klipsch, the headphones themselves should last around eight hours. 24 You get additional hours through the case, through which the headphones are charged when inserted. So you get good 32 Hours without connection to the mains. The information comes along well with normal listening behavior. The whole thing becomes less, of course, if you listen very softly. Otherwise, charging via the integrated USB-C cable is relatively quick, and wireless charging is also supported. For example, you can put it on the Qi charging field on the table when you are not using it and you hardly have to worry about anything.
Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport – Sound
The sound of the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport is one of the best among headphones that you can get up to 300 Euro finds. Mainly because it is one of the few headphones with a decent bass, which is of course not so easy with in-ears. However, you get the best sound if you adjust the equalizer in the app according to your own needs. I have to admit that I didn’t really like the preset profiles, so I preferred to set it myself, as you can see in the screenshots above. Otherwise, next to “Flat”, the best setting is “Podcast”, everything else is too much of a good thing for me, but that’s always difficult to judge, as each ear has a completely different perception and each person has different preferences. The Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport offer a very good basis for.
Outside noise is isolated in the ear so well that it is practically possible forgets that the Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport come without Active Noise Canceling, otherwise that would have been my criticism of the headphones.
It is nice that at least the transparency mode, or the environment mode, is included, which means that the sound is directed into the ear via the microphones. This allows me to easily switch with one click while running, for example when I want to cross the street or something similar. Here you can also set the sensitivity. You just have to note that with a high setting, stronger noise can also occur.
